Describing Photographs

1. The photo was taken in a field.

It's an image of a women on a ladder hanging clothing from a clothes line.

In the picture you can see lots of clothes on a line, a women on a tall ladder, grass.

In the back ground there seems to be a barn.On the line, hangs many clothing items.

Under the ladder is a basket filled with more clothes. 

The people ( the objects) look as if they are calm.
The viewer's attention is focused on the ladder.

The photo makes us feel peaceful.
The picture makes us think about the old days when women would hang clothes outside to dry.
It looks like this women is a house wife, who tends to her family duties.

He/She (probably) wants to criticize/express/show how women did laundry before dryers were made.
2. The photo was taken in front of a lake. 
In the picture you can see lots of water, dirt, broken glass, a man.
In the canoe, a man has one leg in, one leg out.
In the very foreground, is trees, almost looks like a forest.
The people ( the objects) look as if they are confused.
The viewer's attention is focused on the broken glass/water.
The photo is vivid / dark / expressive/... vivid, creative, confusing.
The photo makes us feel confused about the artists message.
The picture makes us think about a shattered dream.
It looks like the man is confused about his surroundings.

He/She (probably) wants to criticize/express/show the idea of a confused, yet curious man who has come across what seems like perfectly cut water breaks.

Describe the scene- A man is stepping out of a canoe onto water appears as broken water made to look like pieces of glass.

3. The photo was taken in front of a blank wall. 

It's an image of a teenage boy punching himself in the face.

The people ( the objects) look as if they inflated their face, and then punched the air out of it. 

It seems/appears to me that he has deformed his face with the strength of his punch.

Describe the scene- a young man punching himself in the face so hard, the face is very squished.

4. The photo was taken in the side view of underwater and above water. 

It's an image of a half fish body and half land.

The people ( the objects) look as if they are dirty, dark, and shallow beneath the water.

The viewer's attention is focused on the very large fish.

It seems/appears to me that there are creatures below the surface that are much bigger than they may seem. 

In the picture you can see a large fish underwater, and land on top of the fish.

5. It’s an image of a man that has caught three fish.

Impressions of the Scene

The scene looks very cold and desolate. It seems to be either sunrise or sunset based off the colors of the sky in the background. The man looks tired.

It looks like the main goes fishing to catch his food.

It appears to me that the man is upset.

It’s an image of a man that appears to be sleep walking.

The scene looks comforting but also lonely, there is a man that has just walked out of one door and is making his way to another which is opposite the first one. Both doors are lit up with a warm yellow light which makes it seem inviting. There is a lamp outside the second door.

In the left side of the foreground there is one shoe with a man inside of it, next to that in the foreground there is another shoe, in the background there are dusty clouds.

The man looks like he is directing the shoes.

The viewers attentions is focused on the big pair of shoes.

The photo looks hot and dark.

The photo makes me feel tired and sweaty.

This pictures makes me think of manual labor.

It appears that the man is a farmer.
